Do dogs dream?

by admin on August 5, 2010

So, you know about www.whatdogsdreamabout.co.za, but do you really know what dogs dream about?

I often see my dogs, lying on the ground, their eyes moving around and legs slowly start “running” I think to my self, the dog must be dreaming. That brings up another question, do dogs actually dream?

I found this article: Do dogs dream.

Your dog lies asleep at your feet, and suddenly his legs begin to twitch and run. Is he dreaming? Or are you dreaming to think such a thing? Wake up and smell the dog food! Of course he’s dreaming. Why would you think otherwise?

Although no one really knows the true function of dreaming it does seem to be necessary for normal data processing and memory storage.

Hope that helps you understand.

I read someplace that MIT researchers have concluded after some reseach that animals do dream. The definition of a dream would be different for animals as well. And of course unlike humans who can speak about their dreams, we can not ask an animal to relate their dream.
